All of that said, let us begin. I am Richard M. Bash, an attorney in Pendleton, Indiana. Pendleton is a small community about 25 miles northeast of Indianapolis, which is the capital of Indiana and the racing capital of the world. Many people view these web pages, but I can only answer questions pertaining to Indiana law. My practice is limited to bankruptcy, family law (adoptions, divorces, premarital agreements, grandparent rights, etc.), change of name, traffic offenses (DUI/OWI, speeding, etc.), and a very few lawsuits. I used to be a deputy prosecutor for Jay County, Indiana.
If you are contemplating marriage, please consider having me or any other competent attorney write a premarital agreement (also called a prenuptial or antenuptial contract) for you, especially if you are going into the marriage with any large assets (more than $5,000). Time and time again, attorneys see people lose their inheritances, gifts, homes, and possessions because they did not spend less than a thousand dollars on a premarital agreement and get their soon-to-be spouse to sign it. Your marriage might last a lifetime. It also may last six months! Please protect yourself and get a premarital agreement drawn up. It is simply common sense in this part of the 21st century. The premarital agreements/contracts that most attorneys write are good in all states (or else they can make it valid for your state). There is a Uniform Premarital Agreement Act that most states, if not all, have adopted. That's all spelled out in the link below about Indiana Law on Marriage & Premarital Agreements. Read it, even if you are not in Indiana!
This page contains links to legal web sites that I have found quite useful. Additionally, there are some links to files that contain important information on various aspects of bankruptcy law and American Indian law. There is also a link to other legal, news, and research material that I use often. That might be of interest to you. Once again, thanks for visiting. Please bookmark this page.
